COLOURFUL stalls will transform an Angmering playing field into a bustling market place on August 30.
The third Angmering Village Market will be set up on Fletcher's Field on Saturday, August 30, with around 60 stalls and children's activities to make it a day for all the family.
Many village organisations will be taking part, including both churc
hes, the two Women's Institutes, sports clubs and the parish council.
Food for all tastes will be on offer, with stalls selling bread, pies, sausages, spice products, cheese, bacon, wine, beer and produce grown by members of Angmering Allotment Society.
Pottery, jewellery, pashminas, cards, hand-made soaps, painted glass, woodwork and chair-caning will be among the crafts on display and for sale, while children will have the opportunity to try out lace-making, art activities and jewellery making, as well as enjoy a giant inflatable and other attractions.
And shoppers in need of a little soothing relaxation can chill out with an Indian head massage or reflexology.
Organiser Val Jerram is looking forward to the big day. "We hope that lots of people will come along and support the event," she said. "It will cost you nothing to come, but be prepared, you will want to buy!"
Market-goers are being encouraged to walk to the field if they can, but some parking will be available on a field at the end of Rectory Lane, and also at Angmering Medical Centre, in Station Road. The market is open from 9.30am-2pm.
There is still room for one or two more stalls selling food. Contact Val on 01903 774247 for more information, or e-mail valerie.jerram@btinternet.com
* Angmering Cricket Club will be fund-raising for its new junior section with a prize draw at the market. Prizes include Fontwell Park raceday tickets, Arundel Castle tickets, a free £20 bet at Robinson bookmakers, East Preston, Sussex v. Yorkshire cricket tickets and 10-pin bowling tickets.
