SUMMER MUSIC: At Shoreham

THE programme has been announced for a fortnight of summer music at St Mary's Church, Shoreham.
Concerts, recitals and presentations will take place at the church from Saturday, August 16, to Saturday, August 30.

On Saturday, Tom Bell will give an organ recital from 7.30pm. On Tuesday, August 19, John Collins will also give an organ recita
l, from 1pm. Soprano singer Debbie Bridge performs on Thursday, August 21, from 7.30pm and, on Friday, August 22, A Grand Night of Singing will provide entertainment from 7.30pm.

On Saturday, August 23, Edwin Pitt-Mansfield and Catherine Herriott will perform a baritone and piano recital from 7.30pm.

On Monday, August 25, Ross Williams gives a demonstration entitled The Organ Works Like This, showing the inner workings of an organ, from 3pm.

On Tuesday, August 26, at 1pm, Martin White will give an organ recital and, on Thursday, August 28, at 7.30pm, Sylkie Moon and guests will perform folk music from around Britain.

On Friday, August 29, at 7.30pm, Martin Ward will lead a multi-media meditation on the way life throws us into situations where it is difficult to be ourselves.

The finale of the fortnight will be a piano recital by Raija Walker at 7.30pm on Saturday, August 30, including music by Sibelius, Kaski, Palmgren and Beethoven and the Italian Concerto by Bach.
