A FAMILY fun day is being held at the Woods Mill nature reserve, Small Dole.
The event, on Sunday, September 7, is hosted by Sussex Wildlife Trust and will enable children and adults learn the skills of the wild wood, including how to build mini-shelters, make woodland creatures from green wood, create mud faces and work the
pole lathe to create carvings.

Other activities will include wildlife arty-crafts, pond dipping, face-painting and wacky woodland races and games.

Alternatively, visitors can head towards the peace and quiet of the new meadow at Woods Mill, looking out towards the South Downs, and listen to the trust's storyteller – or test their wildlife knowledge with a nature quiz around the reserve's lakeside trail.

Tea and refreshments will be available and visitors will have the chance to make their own hot drinks over the campfire using storm kettles.

Some activities are age-limited and will be timetabled to be signed up for on the day, and visitors are asked to bring a picnic.

All children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. For ticket information or more details, call Woods Mill on 01273 492630, or log on to www.sussexwt.org.uk
