There may not have been a mass race organised as usual, of course, but that didn’t stop members of the host club Tone Zone Runners making their own individual efforts over the course. Tone Zoners ran their own virtual Bognor 10k and a total of 74 runners from the club completed the 10k route in their own time over the course of a week. There were no water stations, no crowds, no closed roads, no fellow runners and no medal. They were just doing it for the sheer enjoyment of running. Over the week the weather was varied: some days brought ideal race conditions and on other days runners had the dreaded headwind in the last few miles. Sean Power, Christo Oosthuizen, Jack Penfold and Byron Kearns all ran under 38 minutes with some great times and a PB from Power. Your pictures from past Bognor Prom 10ksLeading the way for the ladies was Juliet Stallard with a great time of 41:27. Ellie Pacey was aiming for anything under 45 minutes and came away with a time of 43:33 smashing her target and recording a new PB. Despite being woken up at 5am Mark Green set a course PB with a time of 44:09, and finishing in similar times were Anne Enes, Sarah Zacal, Jim Simmons, Josey Faggetter and Allen Porter, who recorded a PB of 45:42. Donna Strowger attained a personal best time of 48:32. Some 24 club runners finished under the 50-minute mark, with Peter Ramsdale just sneaking under by four seconds. Debs Pacey has been running quicker times in Tone Zone members’ weekly 5ks recently and carried on her good form to run her fastest 10k since 2015 with a time of 52:39. Sharon Rowe ran with her husband David Rowe and finished in a new personal best time of 53:27, while Catriona Power ran another PB in 58:26. The same goes for Debi Haddleton, who accomplished a personal best by finishing in 58:55. A total of 58 broke the hour mark, while just over the hour were Bushka Skladanek and Elle Matthews. Jo Andrews ran early on Sunday morning to set herself a new personal best time of 1:01:43. Leonie Ranson, Amy Challis and Sue Woodruff all joined the club this year, and despite not being able to run at club meetings, they’ve stuck with their training and completed their first 10ks in 1:04, 1:12 and 1:15 respectively.
