Hassan scores 81 but can't stop Eagles' first defeat

Crawley Eagles suffered their first loss of the season when they were beaten by 39 runs at home to Chichester.

Eagles won the toss and inserted the guests who got off to a flyer with the openers smashing 70 in the first 11 overs, on a great batting track the visitors scored 229 all out with John Edwards top scoring with 62.

Bowlers Jibran Khan and Fazlan both took three-fors as they dismissed Chichester for 229.

Eagles needed a good start if they were to overhaul the total but lost early wickets and at one point were at at 157-4. Rehan Hassan was out for a brilliant 81 a welcome return to form for last year’s top run scorer.
