Lorry gets stuck under shop canopy
The acting manager of Sofa Bed Heaven, Ian Firth, said the driver misjudged the height of the canopy when making a delivery.
Now a specialist team has been brought onto the site today (Friday, February 5) to carefully release the lorry after asbestos was found, according to the shop.

Hide AdHe said: “We have this company from Poland that delivers sofas to us and this container lorry came with sofa beds.
“We tried to get the lorry to reverse in, but the driver decided to drive in front first and misjudged the canopy and got stuck.
“This used to be a garage and we’ve got petrol banks underneath the floor and they found some asbestos.
“So a specialist team are here today to cut around the lorry so it can drive out.”

Hide AdMr Firth said the shop is fine, but he is worried the sight of the lorry has affected sales this week.
“We’re just angry,” he added.
Sofa Bed Heaven is still open for business.
