'˜Those removed were not criminals'
‘Deported’ tends to convey criminality, whereas in the account given below, only the word ‘removed’ was used. As Operation Accent aims for a better understanding of the East European community here, this distinction is important. Those removed were clearly not serving a useful role, and some were behaving in an anti-social way, but they were not criminals.
I am personally very grateful for the sensitive work done in this town to foster friendly relationships, and among many others, wish to express my appreciation of that done by Miranda Cormell and her family.
