LETTER: Garden decline
Ten years ago ‘Friends’ of New Street Garden was formed, to improve the Horsham garden from its abandoned state.
Cash was raised for the project, and a garden contractor laid out the site.
As the years went by people moved away, got demanding jobs and some became aged.

Hide AdThe ‘Friends’ have now disbanded, apart from the key holders to open the gate, no one is left to keep an eye on things. The council only cuts the grass and hedges.
We have advertised for volunteers but nobody local to the garden is interested in picking up litter and pulling weeds.
Must the garden revert to its former state?
