Author inspires Pennthorpe pupils to pen winning poems
There are twelve pupils with their poems published in a national poetry book of just sixty rhymes.
The poetry book has been chosen to be showcased in The Peoples Book Prize Autumn collection, which was founded by Dame Beryl Bainbridge, to recognise new authors.
This is a great achievement for the children.

Hide AdRosie Kerven, penned the overall winning poem, which will be the only poem published in the next Felicity Fly series, a series of rhyming books addressing the world around us, including teamwork, friendship and pollination, in a fun way.
The poetry competition, Eight Line Rhymes, has been backed by former Secretary of State for Education Michael Gove.
Christina Gabbitas, mastermind of the Eight Line Rhyme competition, said: “I received lots of fabulously imaginative writing from all corners of the UK; the very best were chosen by a panel of twenty judges and some of the most impressive poems will be published in a special national. Judges included TSL Education, Lend Me Your Literacy, and The Peoples Book Prize.”
Christina visited the pupils on Friday September 12 to present Rosie with her special trophy and staging storytelling to reception, year 1 and year 2 for the afternoon.
