400 people dicuss future of town

ONE of the largest meetings ever held in Lewes has expressed grave disquiet over the way the proposed massive Phoenix development is being handled.

More than 400 people at Lewes Town Hall gave overwhelming support to resolutions calling for the planning authority to consider the proposals in the context of the town as a whole rather than in a piecemeal fashion.

They also felt that townsfolk had not been adequately consulted on the Phoenix proposals.
