FOLLOWING the success of the first ever Soapbox Derby on The Hyde Estate in Handcross last year organisers are gearing up for the event again on Bank Holiday Monday.
Last year the event raised money for the re-ordering of St Mary's Church, Slaugham but this year the event is supporting the Handcross Youth Club to help subsidise their activities throughout the year.

The three categories for the race are teams, under 12-year-olds and 12 to 17-year-olds. Entry costs £20 per team, £12 for 12 to 17-year-olds and £6 for the under 12-year-olds category.

Spectators will also be able to enter a prize draw to guess the quickest time of the day.

Getaroundcars.com thanks the trustees of The Hyde Estate who have given their permission to run the event once again. Spectators and competitors are being asked to arrive using the back drive entrance off Horsham Road. The event will start at 12.30pm and run to 3.30pm depending on entries.
