A PARISH poll has saved a Storrington allotment site from unwanted redevelopment, after a majority of those taking part voted to reject the controversial scheme.
Residents had protested about plans to sell off Amberley Road plots for £1m to developers, relocating allotment holders to a site at Fryern Road, outside Storrington.

Storrington and Sullington Parish Council decided to hold a vote on the issue, and three other village projects were incorporated in the same poll: the need for village wardens, CCTV in the village and the establishment of a market area at Place de Villerest.

The parish council agreed at the outset that it would go along with the majority vote on the issue.
